Don't you just love September? Time to get those pencils sharpened and get on with things. The added bonus for me of course is in the cooler weather, my paint dries more slowly - so it's more workable. Normally at this time of year I'd be building up to a couple of hundred visitors to my Open Studio. I'm taking a break from that this year - but still, feel free to give me a shout if you want to come over and view some prints/originals/cards, or indeed see the ongoing work in the studio. Saturday and Sunday 7th and 8th September 2008
Mikki will be opening her studio to the public, together with another Harborough artist, Heather Wharam.

On show will be original paintings, prints, sketchbooks and greetings cards. Do come along between 10 and 4.30 to meet the artists and see how they work.
Mikki's studio will be just one studio out of 14 open this weekend as part of Harborough Artists Cluster Open Studios event (see http://www.harboroughartistscluster.blogspot.com/ for details), and a part of the much larger Northamptonshire Open Studios (see http://www.openstudios.org.uk/)

Mikki Longley's bold and colourful pieces have attracted quite a following in recent years. Dynamic movement and animation of English Rural scenes together with an eye for idiosyncratic detail, pattern and texture come together to create a very personal view of the world.
